The road
Westcountry 3
A fictional county on the English south-west coast, made by UKDT: urban Paignton, market Totnes, and the coastal villages between. The server runs version 3.03a.
The network
Route board
Six services across the county, from the Totnes town loops to the cross-map locals. Numbers mean what they mean on a real county network: the 1A and 1B loop Totnes town, the 100 is the shuttle, and the locals take you through places you already know.
| Service | Between | Via | Type |
|---|---|---|---|
| 1A | Totnes ↔ Totnes | High Street, Castle, Colstead, train station | Town circular |
| 1B | Totnes ↔ Totnes | High Street, Castle, Colstead, train station | Town circular |
| 12 | Paignton ↔ Stoneley | Rodwick Down | Local |
| 35 | Paignton ↔ Totnes | Thornford Regis, Berry Pomeroy, Colstead | Local |
| 100 | Middant Park & Ride ↔ Paignton | - | Park & ride |
| 122 | Paignton ↔ Stoneley | Ferncombe | Local |
Getting to know it
The places
- Paignton
- Totnes
- Stoneley
- Ferncombe
- Colstead
- Berry Pomeroy
- Thornford Regis
- Rodwick Down
- Middant Park & Ride
Paignton is the main hub and most services start or end there. Totnes got a full rebuild in 3.03a, and its bus station is the other great gathering point. The villages, Stoneley, Ferncombe, Colstead, Berry Pomeroy, Thornford Regis and Rodwick Down, are the quieter end of the county.
Driver notes
Driving on the Westcountry
- Drive on the nearside. It's the UK: right-hand drive cabs, doors opening on the left, service 12 crossing the whole map to remind you of it.
- Some stops are request stops. Nobody waiting means nobody to call, and a smoother run for the drivers behind you.
- Hold the schedule rather than the throttle. Never leave a stop early; late just happens, especially with two services of the same number on the road.
- The 100 around Middant Park & Ride is the quietest service on the map, and the one new drivers should start on.
