Common questions
Help with getting started and driving on Hohenkirchen. If you need anything else, ask us in Discord.
You’ll need OMSI 2 and the Hohenkirchen add-on. Hohenkirchen is a paid map, bought separately. Install its version 2 content before joining; openOMSI supplies neither the game nor the map.
Yes. Connect to hohenkirchen.depart.cloud:37015 using the openOMSI client. Check the status page for current availability.
Server access is free. You only need to own OMSI 2 and Hohenkirchen. A depart.cloud account is optional for driving, but you’ll need one if you want your hours and tours recorded.
No. Multiplayer uses the openOMSI client. It reads your existing OMSI 2 content, so you can keep your installed maps and buses. Download the client, point it at your game folder and follow the joining guide.
No. These pages and the joining information are available in English and German. Place names and the map’s own signs and announcements remain German, but the route board will help you find your way.
Yes. You can drive from wherever you are. The map follows German roads and traffic rules, so keep to the right and take a moment to get used to the junctions if you normally drive on the left.
No. Use the same crew ID from your depart.cloud profile on both servers. Hohenkirchen has its own leaderboard, and your profile shows each map’s driving record alongside your combined totals.
Sign in with Discord on depart.cloud and open your profile. Use the crew ID shown there as your profile name in the openOMSI client. Tours driven under that name count towards your Hohenkirchen record.
Use whatever you normally drive with: keyboard, gamepad, or a wheel and pedals. The openOMSI client is available for Windows, macOS and Linux. You’ll still need the map’s required content installed correctly.
