Servers, bandwidth and licences all cost money every month, and depart.cloud carries it alone: no adverts, no sponsorship, no data sale. Joining and driving stay free. Supporters cover the running costs, and the network gives them a little extra in return.

Your record gets a public page at an address you pick, depart.cloud/people/your-name, with the supporter badge on it. Choose a display name, pin your usual line, and tick each section on or off: figures and chart, duty list, fleet familiarisation.

What doesn't change

Joining and driving stay free, the same as they are today.
The public boards keep being public: live status, duty boards, the hours board.
No adverts here, ever, and nothing about you is sold on.
Cancel with one tap in your account. Your record and its history stay put; only the badge and the extras go.

Questions

How does the billing work?

It's a subscription. You pay by card, it renews monthly on its own, and it cancels with one tap in your account at any point in the month.

What if I cancel?

You go back to a standard account at the end of the month you paid for. Nothing is deleted: your tours, hours and record stay just as they are. The badge, the customisation and the private channel are the only things that close.

Why charge at all?

Because the servers were never free to run: hosting, bandwidth, backups and the occasional replaced part. A steady handful of supporters covers all of it, which means no adverts ever going up and no bill for anyone who just wants to drive.
